Three Part Memoir Picked up by Stoya’s ZeroSpaces
My memoirs, Bisexual Men Are More Likely To Be Murderers was recently picked up by Stoya for her digital publication ZeroSpaces as an exclusive three part series.
The story follows a young man through his first year of college, navigating the coming out process as he struggled with his crush on a gay man, his relationships with a lesbian, and casual hookups with the “straight” guy across the hall.
It’s a tender, and erotically charged story of what it felt like to struggle with my sexuality in a space that questioned the mere existence of bisexuality as a concept let alone as a possible expression of sexual orientation.
Mel Magazine Write up of my appearance at Stoya’s Book Club, Sex Lit
Back in April, I was asked if I’d join Stoya’s now virutal book club to talk about Disgusting Beautiful Immoral. It was a delightful conversation that lasted for close to three hours. That particular edition of Sex Lit, was covered by Mel Magazine.
“Has anyone else been in a room where people spontaneously started fucking?” pornographer and author Stoya asked during the April installment of her book club, Sex Lit, while discussing Guy New York’s 600-plus page erotic novel Disgusting Beautiful Immoral.”
Stoya’s Book Club
This past Sunday I had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Stoya and her book club to talk about The Island on The Edge of Normal. We spent a few hours discussing polyamory, writing, erotica, sexuality, and relationships and the audience was insightful and generous in their willingness to share their own personal experiences.
It’s been a while since I’ve talked about my writing in public and even longer since I cracked open this particular book. But I was reminded of how important it is to have these conversations and how meaningful it is for me to have a chance to talk about my work to someone other than myself. I had to think back and really look at the choices I made in writing the book, as well as what I might do differently if I wrote it today.
I commented at one point that much of what I write now is much dirtier than The Island, and while that’s partially true it’s not the full picture. I recently published Portraits of Alice which has a few sex scenes but is largely focused on sexuality more than sex. The Oyster Queen, my latest unpublished novel, also is more mainstream fiction than it is erotica. So as much as I enjoy writing sex for the sake of itself–or maybe for the sake of entertainment–I’m still most fascinated by how humans experience desire and what we do with it.
It was also a good reminder that I need to get out more and attend more talks, readings, and other events like this. It gets me out of my head, introduces me to new people, and churns my brain in ways that it definitely needs churning.
So thank you Stoya for inviting me, and thank you to all the kind folks who welcomed me with great questions and friendly conversation.
I had a great fucking time.
Stoya’s Book Club, Book of the Month
Hello friends!
I’m pleased and excited to share some fun news. This month, Stoya chose one of my books for her book club! She’ll be discussing The Island on the Edge of Normal. It’s a wonderful opportunity and I’m so grateful she’s chosen my book!
I’ll be there as well to take questions and generally talk about open relationships, writing, and whatever else comes up.
Best Erotica Blog Award!
Kinkly recently put out their list of Top 100 Sex Bloggers and I’m on it! They decided not to rank the main list, but rather leave it as an unordered list which is pretty cool. There are a ton of great people on there so check it out!
They did, however, rank some of their categories.
I was #6 for Reader’s Choice. Thank you!
And #1 For Best Erotica Blog!
A very generous blurb from Chris Ryan
“If Henry Miller were alive today (and had a visual sense as acute as his intellect) he’d be doing something like this. What I particularly love is that this is erotica that appeals to my mind and spirit as much as my blood and balls. In both words and images, Quickies in New York finds eroticism everywhere from street-level vulgar to penthouse sublime. It doesn’t shy away from the chaos and emptiness that sometimes comes on the heels of ecstasy. The work is classy, gorgeous, and thoughtful.”

“Nueva York sigue siendo la ciudad más sexy del mundo. Y lo demuestra algo tan sencillo como esta especie de diario fotográfico de un tipo de la ciudad que se dedica a reflexionar sobre el erotismo, el desnudo, la sensualidad, el sexo y sus conquistas, menudo campeón, y lo ha bautizado como Quickies in New York…”
In English:
“New York keeps its name for the sexiest city in the world, and it’s shown with some- thing as simple as this photographic diary about a guy in the city who reflects on eroticism, nudity, sensuality, and sex.”

“Quickies In New York: Bite Size Servings Of Sexy Stories And Photos:Though we know quite a few blogs that offer up a selection of (usually reblogged) erotic photos, and another handful that offer readers quality erotic tales, it’s the rare blog indeed that manages to deftly combine both erotic photography and erotic writing into one seamless, sexy package…”

“I found Quickies in New York back in February, and felt it was finally time to share this fun project with you – I wanted to wait to see if it kept its direction, or lost steam (as sadly so often happens with cool sex blogs like this). Quickies in New York is a delightful original content Tumblr that features erotic photos and stories showcasing aspects of New York sex.”
