Maria (an epistolary novel)

My first NANOWRIMO attempt, this is a truly trashy, weird, and horrible book. Read at your own risk.
Maria is an episilatory novel I wrote many many years ago during an early National Novel Writing Month challenge. I wrote it as letters because it gave me an easy goal for each day of the month. Just write one letter!

It was supposed to be a mystery. And maybe it is after all.

Every letter in the book is sent to the mysterious Maria who appears to have vanished and rarely if ever writes back. But a large family drama unfolds revealing long-hidden secrets, dastardly plots, and a ton of trashy sex for some reason. Especially from Maria’s darling little sister who is spending the summer by the sea getting into all sorts of trouble.

It’s only available in the giant bundle. I’m not sure it deserves a place there either, but maybe someone will find it enjoyable in the same way you find other truly terrible things to be entertaining.

"I am hoping that sometime soon I will convince Julia to join me in my evening bath, but as of yet I have not brought up the idea. She does seem to enjoy my stories about Raul and Maurice, however, and she gets very excited when I talk of them. She is unfortunately devoted to her lover in the US, but I am sure that the ocean wind and a certain amount of champaign may cause some of her resolve to change. How fun would it be to have Raul wash us both! How fun would it be to have her join me in my bed at night, so when I awake there is someone there next to me, reminding me that I am not alone. It would almost be as if you were here with me!"

From Maria’s little sister Sylvia, by the sea
